National Volunteer Week   13-19 May 2013

Across Australia during May, people and organisations will acknowledge National Volunteer Week – a celebration of the work of the millions of volunteers that help in all sorts of ways.

It’s also a great opportunity for St John to recognise the wonderful work that our very own volunteers undertake across South Australia, whether it is through first aid and healthcare, social inclusion, youth development, through education, or by assisting fellow volunteers and St John itself in the many support roles.

To an organisation such as ours, volunteerism has a central role. We simply could not carry out the work we want to do without volunteer support, generosity of time, skill, and expertise. They are an amazing asset to both St John and local communities.

During 2012-13 alone,
St John volunteer hours were valued at a staggering $7.6 million.

To all St John volunteers, our sincere thanks.
