Lottery win for St John!

03 May 2011

St John Ambulance Australia (SA) Inc today announced a sponsorship alliance with
SA Lotteries that will benefit more than 14,000 South Australians receiving first aid treatment at public events over the next 12 months.

St John volunteers are proud to be on hand to provide first aid assistance at many major and local events.  The support received from SA Lotteries will greatly assist the St John volunteers in keeping the South Australian community safe through the provision of first aid assistance at events such as Clipsal 500, Santos Tour Down Under and Big Day Out music festival.

A vital community asset, St John is grateful for sponsorships and donations to maintain the fleet of mobile first aid units, critical medical and communication equipment, as well as the ongoing training and professional development for those that so generously volunteer their expertise to St John.

“On behalf St John I thank SA Lotteries for their valuable support.  The support extended helps us move forward in our commitment to aid those in need, sickness or distress,” CEO Sharyn Mitten stated today.  “St John further extends appreciation to the many thousands of volunteers and supporters - St John simply wouldn’t exist without them.”

For SA Lotteries, the sponsorship alliance provides the perfect complement to its existing annual profit distributions to South Australian hospitals.

“More than $90 million in profits from SA Lotteries games is distributed to State hospitals each year,” SA Lotteries Chief Executive June Roache said today.

“We are pleased that our partnership with St John will enable SA Lotteries to more directly benefit the health of South Australians,” Ms Roache said.
